Annemarie's Philosophy
Personal/Professional: A Sneak Peek Into My Work and Home Life
As an ordained Non-Denominational Wedding Officiant/Celebrant and Minister in the Pacific Northwest, here is a quick peek into my heart and how I come to this work...
- I absolutely love and treasure this work that I do. I have the remarkable privilege to work with couples of all faiths/traditions and beliefs to create personalized, heart-centered and memorable wedding ceremonies.
- I travel throughout the Seattle/Tacoma area - Puget Sound is my "work home" and I also travel to "destination weddings" outside of the Greater Puget Sound area.
Spiritual Beliefs/Background and More
I come to this work with a big and sensitive heart, an open mind and curious nature and a life philosophy that is deeply spiritual in nature with love and kindness at its center. As a Non-Denominational Minister, I work with couples of all beliefs and traditions - religious, spiritual or secular. Creating a personalized ceremony is about celebrating a loving relationship and I never use a ceremony as a platform to promote my personal beliefs.
At the epicenter of my life are honesty, transparency, fairness, compassion, humor/fun and the quest to live an impeccable life. I was raised in a Christian household in the Mid-West and very much appreciate the traditions, beliefs and rituals of all world religions, faiths and paths.
I pursue a spiritual path that is personal in nature. I am a voracious reader and life-long learner and I am one of those people who is extra happy when they have a book. I am on the Faculty of the Celebrant USA Foundation and have two Diplomas in Celebrancy from this prestigious Institution on the East Coast.

As a Wedding Officiant and Minister, I’ve come to know one thing for sure: working together on a wedding ceremony (formal or casual) is an intimate experience. I am best suited for a motivated and enthusiastic couple who appreciates my personalized and inclusive approach.
When it comes to creating and delivering a wedding ceremony, I am the co-creator, consultant, resource person, encourager, advisor and finally, the Officiant. I create and deliver each ceremony with professionalism and heart, and always keep the focus on the couple. The underlying principle of Celebrancy is that a couple "owns" their ceremony.
Each wedding ceremony is precious to me. I dedicate the needed time, energy and effort into creating and officiating each ceremony and offer unique benefits/values to my couples including:
- A custom written and personalized wedding ceremony (formal or casual).
- Leading a wedding rehearsal that is fun and engaging.
- Serving as "ceremony planner" for your day - this includes arriving early on your wedding day to coordinate all pre-ceremony details for an elegant start. It’s like having a wedding planner for the ceremony portion of your day!
- An assistant at ceremonies (when necessary).
- Unlimited phone and email access for all ceremony and wedding planning questions, including vendor resources.
- Submitting signed legal paperwork to the Country Auditor and more.

"Personal Touch," Services and Fees
"Personal Touch" is the cornerstone of my work. Many of my couples share that they appreciate the level of service I offer, no matter if the ceremony is small/intimate or a more formal and grand event. It’s true that I am well suited to the unique couple who recognizes that the quality/content of their ceremony is the "heart and soul" of their wedding day. This is also a couple who pays a little more for the comfort and assurance of knowing they are contracting with a first-class Celebrant who comes with professional experience, public references, a gentle and enthusiastic spirit, and some spunk, too!
In this work, it’s not about running a "ceremony mill" outlet or "cookie cutter" operation - it’s about cherishing each couple and celebrating their unique and loving relationship. For more information, please go to Services & Fees.
"Thank you for our wedding ceremony - it was amazing, intimate, humorous and emotional. Thank you for all of your help and for making our day so special!"

My Home Life and Professional Background. What I’m Passionate About...
I come to this work with a heart that has experienced great joy and great sorrow; a heart that has experienced enough highs and lows in life to know better and a heart that at its center is optimistic and grateful. I am blessed with a happy life and marriage, great friends, an abiding love for animals and a commitment to lifelong learning. In my "former life," I spent over 15 years building and selling two successful event planning companies in Redmond, WA. Yes, it’s true - I have event planning DNA running through me which often helps greatly on a wedding day! Prior to this, I was a television news anchor/reporter for 5 years in three markets and hold a B.A., in Journalism from Syracuse University.
I have the great good fortune to be married to the most wonderful man in the world. My husband, Greg and I, were married at a private home with our Officiant, two couples and our four dogs. We then celebrated with a fun party. For us, it was a beautiful wedding day. In my marriage, I have the grand opportunity to truly love and be loved and to walk through life with my best friend.
Greg and I are fortunate to live on Bainbridge Island and our family includes four special needs dogs all rescued from abuse and neglect. Much of my free time is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abused and abandoned dogs. I work with several local rescue groups and many of the furry ones I work on saving are "death row dogs." In my life, there is no better feeling than knowing that a being is free of suffering and is safe.

And Just For Fun...
I do not sacrifice anything. I do not jump out of anything. I do not wear scuba gear and I do not do any ceremony naked. Other than that, I'm open!
