It started out as any other day. A cloudy day in May. I was booked on the 5:30 p.m. seaplane to Orcas Island to officiate Doug and Theresa’s intimate evening wedding ceremony.

Doug & Theresa ~ Orcas Island
And on this morning, the wind and the rain started to get crazy. A few hours before my planned departure, Kenmore Air cancelled the afternoon flight.
And so, I scrambled. I officiated Mark and Donna’s wedding at 2:00 p.m. and jumped in my car and drove like crazy to Anacortes. I was fortunate to just catch the next ferry and I finally made it to Orcas Island – the wind was howling, the electricity was iffy and Doug and Theresa got married!
Photographer James Krall took some amazing photos and he captured the one to the right from the Balcony at the Sweet Outlook Inn in Eastsound.
Doug and Theresa ~ I was going to get there, whether it was seaplane, ferry, auto or a combination! Your love and devotion to one another and your relationship is everything Oriah Mountain Dreamer talks about in your now favorite poem, The Invitation.
